New Years Eve Blowout!

Magic Mike here, and I’d like to say, first and foremost, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope your New Year’s Eve festivities were fun, safe and full of loved ones, smiles, and happiness. The six of us had quite the experience over the two-day span that was our New Year’s Eve.

First, on Friday the 30th we traveled to Galveston to perform at our go-to spot: Yaga’s. It was as fun as ever, and we performed to a loaded dance floor, packed with people enjoying the holiday celebration vibes. We can always count on a good time at Yaga’s. Then, on the 31st, we performed two shows.

Our first performance was hitting it hard for the hometown crowd at Austin’s New Year celebration at Auditorium Shores. In our ranks we had long-time ROXY ROCA fan and friend Chris K. He flew down from Beantown to share in the celebration, and we were honored to pack him in the van and show him a bit of the band life. We had an afternoon-into-evening set at 5:40. It was a beautiful sight as the sun set against the skyline behind us, creating a bit of early evening magic as we played to a festival crowd in the grass in front of our stage. We can’t tell you how wonderful it is to come back from the road, play a show in Austin, and have lots and lots and lots of people show up. Continually, you guys really come out and support us, and there are no words to describe the gratitude we have for you all.

It was a quick set and even quicker pack-up as our second show of the evening awaited in Houston at the Hotel Sorella. The band arrived with time to spare and were able to watch and sing along to the Cody Bryan Band. We took the stage well before 12 and played all the way up to the countdown. At the stroke of midnight, our sweethearts joined us on stage and we snuck a kiss to ring in 2017 followed by our own rousing rendition of Three Dog Night’s “Joy to the World”. Were you aware that indeed Jeremiah WAS a bullfrog? It’s true.

Anyway, we woke up to a beautiful first day of 2017, and shared a wonderful breakfast with a table full of laughs, smiles and love. We cannot wait to bring you MORE shows, MORE music, MORE videos, and more growth in this new year.
