We had a blast serving as local ambassadors of funk by hosting the Knuckle Rumbler SXSW day party at Valhalla, aka Trunk Funk Vol 2 Hosted by ROXY ROCA. It was an all-day funk/soul party featuring sets from ROXY ROCA along with some truly outstanding bands from around the world, including Tyler Stenson (Portland, OR), Mike Love Duo (Honolulu, HI), The Pinstripes (Cincy, OH), Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics (Atlanta, GA), Rosco Bandana (Gulfport, MS), Monophonics (San Fran, CA), and Imam Baildi (Athens, Greece). Man, what a day!

ROXY ROCA Featured on Active Listener SXSW 2013 Podcast

Respected underground podcast Active Listener took on the enormous task of listening to tracks from all 1200+ bands from SXSW 2013 to pick out 100 or so they really like and organize them into mixes based on genre. We are proud to say that our song “Try My Love” was featured in this year’s Active Listener SXSW 2013 Soul R&B Funk Mix.

If you want funk, soul, and tight arrangements, no one in Austin does it better than Roxy Roca. Their single was so good I had to base a whole mix around it.
