Review of show at The Foundry in Dallas in Kulture Shocked
Many thanks to Michael Swann from Kulture Shocked for the great review of our show on 4/10/15 at The Foundry in Dallas. Here’s a taste of what he had to say:
My experience with Roxy Roca was minimal before now. I’ve heard a few recordings and I dig their sound, but I had never been to one of their shows. Until this past weekend and holy shit, they are incredible. If you’ve never listened to them, that is something you need to remedy ASAP. Roxy Roca is the modern soul band. Yes, the same soul that emanated from the Blues Brothers and other classic soul groups, however, Roxy Roca gives it a modern twist and knocks it out of the park.It isn’t classic rock, it isn’t country, it isn’t pop. Roxy Roca’s blend of sound creates a driving and energetic atmosphere that simply makes you want to dance and groove. Front man and vocalist, Taye Cannon, is simply incredible. His powerful stage presence and superb vocal command create what some could call a revival atmosphere and it is impressive to watch. This is band that you need to check out, and do it quickly. Their tour schedule is intense and this is not a show you want to miss. Check them out on Facebook and see if they have a show near you.
