Ryan Greenblatt has been playing drums for 21 years and prides himself on being a versatile player that can keep the pocket tight no matter what style of music he plays. Over the past seven years, Ryan has toured the United States and appeared on several recordings with numerous bands including funk rockers Achachay!, the southern pop/rock group Southbound Drive, and the stoner metal trio Vegatron. Distinguished jazz tenor-saxophone player John Doheny had this to say about Ryan after performing with Ryan during his tenure at Tulane University in New Orleans: “Ryan has an instinctive grasp of New Orleans funk rhythms, and the technique to back it up.”

As of January 2015, Ryan has held down the drum chair for the funk-laden, self-styled kings of Dynamite Texas Soul: Roxy Roca. Since joining the band, Roxy Roca is on pace to play well over 200 shows in 2015 with no plans of slowing down. Show highlights include playing the Old Settler’s Music Festival, an official showcase at SXSW, the Keep Austin Weird Music Festival, the Center of the Universe Festival, and a two-night stand at the legendary Continental Club backing up Grammy-nominated, blues icon Bobby Rush. The band continues to tour the United States promoting 2015’s Ain’t Nothin’ Fancy, and they look forward to recording their follow up next year.[/themify_quote]
